In an amazing lecture today, Richard will show you that storytelling is alive and well — and paramount to your ability to coach and help clients. Learn why a story is a critical structure for passing on knowledge and inspiring people. The lesson today will produce for you a framework for building a presentation AND writing a story that will be impactful. There is a bonus too: an outline to help you quickly create a story about you.
EPISODE 4 – April 30, 2020
Being a coach and being a speaker are completely different — NOT! In this week’s clinic, find out why being a coach and a speaker are the same thing and how the end goal is to lead people. In the clinic last week, the framework of a presentation was spoken of in general terms, but today is about the details of that framework. More important than this, however, will be learning from Richard how to read your audience and appeal to them in such a way that they are inspired and ready to take action. Through the framework of the Aristotle method, Richard will teach you to balance 3 different constructs of presenting powerfully. On top of that, stay tuned for an extensive coaching session that will illustrate through others’ experience, a framework for coaching and building your coaching business.
EPISODE 5 – May 7, 2020
The Coaching and Communication Clinic this week is about a singular concept that you must identify and hone to become a better coach and leader. The concept is IMPACT. Richard is teaching all of you to become better coaches by helping you to evaluate your quality and power as a coach using the A3 Filter of Approach, Activity, and Action. After understanding how these factors interact with each other inside your coaching business, it is all about how you can create a bigger impact in people’s lives. Impact will be defined and given a heartbeat as you learn how it moves to inspire people to greater heights, and you will be taught how to be the pillar and spark of that transformation.
EPISODE 6 – May 14, 2020
In this bold coaching clinic, Richard breaks down and elaborates a single powerful skill that each coach must master to be effective – compartmentalization. You might think it simply means to put cheese in the fridge and tomatoes on the counter, but as a skill and an experience, it is much more than that and will have a profound effect on the quality of your coaching and the interactions with your clients. Richard will teach you about the phenomenon of your mind moving from present to drift and the adverse effects when it is uncontrolled. Don’t think it has anything to do with compartmentalizing? Think again, because that experience involves keep things in the right place in your mind so you can remain present. On top of that, take detailed notes on how to keep your story out of your client’s story, and a neat technique to help your clients compartmentalize their story, own it, and rewrite it.
EPISODE 7 – May 21, 2020
It may sound crazy, but the communication clinic this week is about listening — AND IT'S EXCITING! It is actually where new possibilities live. Richard shines a whole new light on the 3 types of listening and how engaging in two of these types can help you generate confidence for you and your clients. A point that is driven home is that the quality of your mentorship, coaching, and speaking is directly related to the quality of your listening. Guess what is going to drive you to listen actively to your clients? Your commitment to them and the results you stand for. In a deep coaching dive, Richard will teach you about a new methodology of listening called Theory U.
EPISODE 8 – June 4, 2020
It’s the one you knew would come one day. The Coaching and Communication Clinic this week sees Richard discuss the use of your voice AND your body language. In the first half of this lecture, you will learn about three types of voices, how they each play a role in the quality of your speaking, and some strategies you can start implementing as a coach and speaker. In the second half of the clinic, it is all about your body language. It can confirm and amplify your message, or it can beguile and betray your message. Richard will explore 6 different body language ques, and drive home how they affect your speaking, messaging, and appearance to the world through different forms of media.
EPISODE 9 – June 11, 2020
Storyfication. That is the process Richard will talk about today, and it will change the way you think about stories, whether they be tall tales or epic sagas. This clinic will touch upon the 7 major themes that all stories are built upon, and it will also place YOU the coach, as the hero of your own story. Through this lens it will become clear why the story you tell is important for you and the lasting meaning and impact it can have for your clients. On top of that, the changing world we live in is also changing the way stories exist in the world, and Richard will highlight the shift from the storytelling era to the story-doing era, as well as his 6 step Storyfication process so you can start story-doing.
EPISODE 10 – June 18, 2020
Prepare. Prepare. Prepare. It is one of the most integral qualities you must exercise in order to build your professional Prowess. As Richard will speak to this week, prowess is being fearless, and this stems from preparation. Walk through a 3-step process with Richard on getting prepared for a presentation whether it is to one or to many people, and learn the two halves of the battle of preparing: what are you prepared to do, and delivering your message. Inside this clinic, you will become attuned to how being prepared charges up your ability to express yourself no matter what situation arises. Bonus tip: being prepared has a lot to do with the audience.
EPISODE 11 – June 25, 2020
You won’t be able to sustain your coaching business if you aren’t honest and clear about what your goal is for coaching people in the first place. In the communication clinic this week, Richard is going to teach you how to create your purpose for your coaching business, or any other business you own. The two sections of this week’s lecture are first about legacy — what does it mean, what do you want to leave, and how does it keep you aligned and motivated. The second half of the lecture is the ‘meat and potatoes’ — creating your purpose. Ever see somebody who walks with absolute certainty, or they just feel like they have something that you want to emulate? Then you know they are clear about their purpose. Richard is going to guide you through a 4-step exercise to reignite you and realign you with your purpose for coaching.
EPISODE 12 – July 2, 2020
If you thought making an impact as a coach and speaker in the ‘old’ world of in-person training was difficult, the ‘new’ world of digital offers a whole new set of problems. If we want to create some form of predictability about the future, then we have to be in action because through action we have a good idea of the outcome. This requires commitment to your goals, and to fight through the problems that the digital world presents. Today is about communicating in the digital world on social media, online conferences, and the lot. Richard is going to teach you about the 3Ds that you must be committed to beating in the digital medium to get your message to your audience. On top of that, he will explain how the world needs leadership, not more information, and a 4-step formula to have you engage your coaching clients, create new relationships, and be of more value than information.
EPISODE 13 – July 9, 2020
The clinic this week starts off with a special guest appearance by Jeff Bounds, Head of Retail for Grant Cardone, and he shares a message of how he has become successful at sales and speaking through the power of script and roleplay. Afterwards, Richard has a deep conversation about what is in fact driving you inside the realm of coaching people. For you coaches out there, Rich puts forth some tough questions that you need to answer for yourself such as “Where are you leading from?” This sets the stage for an even deeper discussion on your stories, your victories, and what is it do you stand for – especially for yourself. Be ready to dive deep and learn the 5 elements that are driving you.
EPISODE 14 – July 16, 2020
There are so many people in the world who are experiencing their first online conference calls and interactions, and this means you have an opportunity to design your experience in the digital world and be impactful to others when they meet you digitally. As Richard will explain in the Communication Clinic this week, “The way people digitally experience you, brands you.” All you coaches, prepare to learn how to impact people through digital mediums. Prepare yourself to learn how you can make people want to be with you, engage with you, and the importance of a new metric – Hold rate. Richard is going to discuss a 4-step foundation for success in the digital world, and physical things you need to be aware of to present powerfully and be committed to what you say you stand for.
EPISODE 15 – July 23, 2020
There are two big areas that Richard will speak to this week: 1) contextualizing the coaching business and 2) how to use the instrument God has given us all — our voice. In what is a masterful piece of precision, Richard will explain why your coaching business comes down to this context — 1. Find out what are massive goals for your client, 2. Find out what is massive action for your client, 3. Stretch them apart so that your service and system bridge the gap, so your client is always growing and becoming a better version of themselves. In the second half, Richie will explain how you can use your voice and your words in a 4-part foundational exercise to make what you say more impactful, thoughtful, and better at establishing a stronger leadership connection with your clients.
EPISODE 16 – July 30, 2020
The coaching clinic today will examine four areas of life to help you determine 2 things; first, am I being an impactful coach for my clients and second, am I analyzing my own life inside the construct of these four areas. Remember, one thing we constantly speak of is to be a walking, talking testament of what you stand for and are committed to for yourself and for others. Richard is going to entirely and plainly, explain the 4 measurable benefits of coaching people impactfully. If you are a coach you MUST know what they all mean so you can be effective for yourself and your clients. Afterwards, learn from fellow Cardone licensees and their experiences in an extensive coaching session.
EPISODE 17 – August 6, 2020
The Coaching and Communication Clinic this week is hosted by a couple of new hosts, Ken and Niran. In an ‘open floor’ conversation, they are taking feedback from licensees about what is working for them with the clinic, as well as, concerns and other things that licensees want to learn about. In this discussion, Anna from Cardone HQ will pop in and provide some excellent solutions and remind us that there are excellent resources at Cardone U to improve your skillset such as, 3rd Party Trainers. Listen in and get a sense of the community, its depth, its heart, the support it provides for fellow licensees, its testimonials, and some amazing stories of persevering and reinventing one’s self from huge setbacks.
EPISODE 18 – August 13, 2020
Are you listening to these Coaching and Communication clinics? I mean actually hearing the words and what they mean? Or are you just surface listening? Today Richard will walk you through 3 different types of listening that you will employ as a coach to fully understand and help your clients. Do you remember what you were going to say in that presentation to your clients? In fact, not remembering is nothing to be afraid of — it happens. But today, Richie will show you some things you can do to smooth over those moments and keep moving forward with what you want to say. To sum it up, you will have a new appreciation for listening and preparing so that no matter what happens or you forget something — you can do what you set out to do.
EPISODE 19 – August 20, 2020
In a passionate and caring coaching clinic, Richard makes a strong argument that we must change our relationship to the concept of tomorrow. As he aptly points out, when we relate to people and our futures – there is a tomorrow. Reality sometimes has other plans. This week, Richard will make for you the connection between being committed, being in action, and the resulting passion. As a coach with this in mind, you must know that action lives in today and not tomorrow, because tomorrow begets delaying today. Therefore, on this call, Richard will show you how to manage your relationship with today, tomorrow, and action for yourself, and as a coach for others in a 4-step process. And one more thing, you will learn 3-steps to determine if you are being honest with yourself and your 10X coaching goals.
EPISODE 20 – August 27, 2020
When Richard speaks, he often uses stories from his own experience, even when they are about doing something and getting it wrong. In the communication clinic today, Richard will nail down an often-illusive term – charisma. The good news is that all of you can create charisma, and the better news is that it just has to be uniquely yours and not copied from somebody else. Some common things to charismatic people are their ability to be clear about goals, communicate well, and articulate clearly. (Sounds like what we are all about right?) In a concise lesson, learn the 3 parts needed to create charisma, and 3 common mistakes people make when trying to create it. A big bonus this week: listen closely to what Richard has to say about confidence.
EPISODE 21 – September 3, 2020
Today is about solidification. Today’s coaching and communication clinic will have Richard solidify for you, what engagement is and how you can increase it to levels higher than you have ever achieved. The roadmap for the clinic is first to establish that you are responsible for engagement (as evidenced by your commitment) and you are responsible for your audience’s engagement as well. Did you know that engagement is defined as a state of being? AND that it isn’t excitement? Do you know what it means to enroll your audience and its effect on engagement? Tune in this week and learn what all this means, and a framework to increase your engagement and share-ability.
EPISODE 22 – September 10, 2020
It is time to get creative. It is also time to learn that presentations are made up of both science and art, and there are ways to leverage science in order to decrease the time you spend making your presentation. The result is you can increase your time for the rest of your goals. Richard will guide you through the science of presentations, which means requirements that are inescapable, as well as leveraging science in a physical way such as using templates and technology. The art, as Richard says, is where the magic lives. This is where you express yourself, your story, your service, and what you stand for in a way that is uniquely you. Best of all, you can leverage the teaching this week about the structure of presentations both in terms of design elements and moving from hook to sales.
EPISODE 23 – September 17, 2020
In a wonderful second part of sorts to the clinic on engagement on September 3rd, Richard is fortifying with statistics what people feel but couldn’t always express – in this digital age people spend double the time in business meetings. Why? Less engagement and more distraction. Discover two sets of engagement tools you can use (Traditional and 10X), tips for presenting, and the filters through which the audience sees you. In this fast-paced talk, Richard will nail down that being listened to is an act of leadership, how to make people listen more, listen closely (engaged), and listen to you in the first place.
EPISODE 24 – September 24, 2020
The clinic this week is all about speaking. Today you will encounter the factors that can not only make your speaking better but can make it worse if you don’t control them. Did you know your body is arguably the biggest factor in shaping the way you talk? Have you psyched yourself out? Do you realize that when you are speaking you have predictable outcomes — Yes I’m in, or I’m out. You are going to fundamentally shift your relationship to communicating with people this week because you will have a newfound awareness of yourself, AND, the situation where you reside. To illustrate how to connect with people and speak powerfully to what they need — to be in servitude others - listen closely to a real-life experience with Ice Cube and a professor.
EPISODE 25 – October 1, 2020
Whether you have admitted this to yourself or not, you are in the business of selling stuff – yourself, your ideas, your coaching system, or anything else. Inside the realm of coaching, Richard points out there is a system that is uniquely yours that you are selling to a client that will in some way help them achieve 5 different victories as they level up with you to reach their next (and hopefully bigger) goal. People, according to Socrates, above all else want more happiness and this translates into a coaching business because you help them reach that next level with your system. As a coach, you stand only for results, and to stand for results you must build trust. Tune in and learn 4 crucial things you can do to build trust.
EPISODE 26 – October 8, 2020
Ever felt stuck? Now ask yourself if you are stuck or you just feel like it? Often being stuck is just a label we used to describe our experience at a point in time. To get unstuck however, is simple — get active. In the seminar this week, Richard will speak about 5 questions that make us think twice and cause you to feel stuck. Next up, he will teach you a 4-part foundation to launch your own coaching business by your own design. In the final period, Rich dives deep into the conditions that give you the right to be in a coaching conversation authentically, and a 4-step method to get your coaching business unchained.
EPISODE 27 – October 15, 2020
Coaching. In one word, that is the lone focus of this week’s talk. Richard is an example of being committed to you by joining the call while driving, and he shares with you a story of when as a coach, he had to shift into assertive tough guy mode to get his client aligned again. One of the clear rules Richie will impress upon you is that if you are not laying ground rules at the start, you are just a hired friend. That is not your job. And it is not to give advice either because it does not actually exist. Advice is after all, just your opinion, and it may not work in your client’s situation. Therefore, as a coach you are committed to actions and outcomes. Learn from Richard and your fellow licensees in this very interactive session some great insights on building your authority as a coach.
EPISODE 28 – October 22, 2020
You know what? You are full of s%*t man. When was the last time you did something that scared you a bit? To some degree, all of us are full of ‘it’ whether we like it or not. Our own BS is the story we tell ourselves plus the battle that takes place inside our self-talk that has us play safe and small. It isn’t just clients that get stuck, but coaches get stuck too because of it. Today’s coaching and communication clinic is about getting unstuck by getting refocused on the things we need to change in our own lives. You need to be ruthless in this pursuit and chalk it down as a victory, so you gain traction with your action. Today, Richard will lead all of you in this immersive lesson, through some brutally honest observations of people, some personal challenges, and bring you out the other side having learned more about yourself and learning the A6 Toolkit to be a better coach.
EPISODE 29 – October 29, 2020
The importance of writing down your goals twice per day may become evident here, but it only works if what you write down is the purpose you were built for, and if the goal you want to achieve stretches you and pulls you forward into action. This week’s clinic is about a question that haunts many people – what is my purpose? Its haunting because it is usually unresolved. Richard is going to show you what your purpose should be, such as simple and emotional, and he is going to put forth 3 questions to help you determine if what you are doing is on purpose. If that wasn’t enough, write down his 3-target model for understanding how your purpose works for you, and most importantly, the 4-step framework for rallying your organization around your purpose.
EPISODE 30 – November 5, 2020
F*&oBUc65s. Do you get that? F#o&cno5s. Almost… Focus! This week is about reclaiming your focus, and if you are a coach, helping your client reclaim their focus. If a client has uncertainty in their world it puts them in survival mode, playing small, doing irrational things. In this clinic, Richard is going to equip you with the tools you need to help you and your clients reclaim their focus. Often what happens is people are just busy, or chasing results, or putting pleasures ahead of priorities. This leads to a void in their life once they see which areas have been bled dry from focusing on the wrong thing — often unchosen. Be detailed and ready to look deep as Richie walks you through exercises to determine the 5 things most important to you, what is non-negotiable in your life, and determining for yourself what you put in focus. At this moment, Richard will bring full circle how this affects your actions and commitments.
Episode 31 – November 12, 2020
On some days you will feel disorientated, sluggish, tired, or wonder what you are doing. Today, the coaching clinic is going to take a detailed view of how you can get realigned and reenergize towards achieving your goals. Richard will explain the importance of digging deeper at problems so that it is not just the symptoms that are handled, but the root of the problem. Take excellent notes to take advantage of the 7-part life measurement system to refocus yourself and your coaching clients. Additionally, learn how to make a vision board, so you can evaluate what is important to you (or your clients) and what you want. When these 2 things are aligned, you will always have your goals pulling you into the future you have determined with the actions you are committed to doing.
Episode 32 – November 19, 2020
Sometimes we forget the power of proximity. How else are you going to learn what coaching looks like unless you see a coach do it? Today is that day. Richard performs live coaching with a person on the call, while narrating the key things to do as a coach and what to look for from the client. Write good notes (BE ENGAGED) so you can remember what to emulate, what to practice in your own life, and then put yourself in the conversation to help others. Some key points are about immersing yourself in the client’s world, not passing judgment, forgiveness, cranking up your financial goals, and that goal serving is not the same as self-serving.
Episode 33 – November 26, 2020
Richard is focusing on a word and concept today that most people cannot quantify, but today, all of you are in luck! In today’s Coaching & Communication Clinic, Richard is going to speak about DECORUM. In a nutshell, decorum is about the way you land and present yourself to other people, or put another way, “who you are speaks louder than the words you use.”—Unknown. Find out exactly what Richie is saying about decorum in the 1st part of this class with a nice acronym named STYLE. In the 2nd part of this class, write notes and learn deeply from mini 1-on-1 coaching sessions. Here is but one thing you will learn in part two — the conversation you have becomes the company you keep. Learn big everyone.
Episode 34 – December 3, 2020
Location, location, location! We aren’t talking about your home, we are talking about where you are located mentally, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. In the game of life, where do you locate yourself? Richard is going to explain why you must locate yourself as a coach, and the power of doing so to move yourself out of your ‘default’ position. Some key points you want to keep in mind when you watch the clinic today are: am I normalizing mediocrity? Are my agreements to numerous or onerous? Have I taken myself on as my own coaching client? In the latter part of the clinic this week, pay special attention to the questions Richard asks, so you can clarify your attitude, your targets, the problem you are solving, and how this translates into the actions you take.
